Peak Nickel
In 2023, Peak Nickel became the first company to secure the required exploration rights to drill the Rodburn Project for the first time in 50 years.
Drilling results have returned the highest-grade Ni-Cu-Co intercepts ever recorded in the British Isles. Peak Nickel’s drilling in 2023/2024 has outlined a JORC Exploration Target with potential for 10-20 million tonnes of Ni-Cu-Co mineralisation grading of 1-2% nickel equivalent. Mineralisation comes to surface and is open along strike and depth. The deepest drill hole to date is less than 200 meters deep.
In total, Peak Nickel has drill-tested a 300m strike section of a 3,000m magnetic/geochemical anomaly. Recent drilling confirms the potential to rapidly increase the resource potential, with massive and semi-massive sulphides discovered in 2024 step-out drillholes.
Importantly, the Rodburn site is classified by the local planning authority as a safeguarded mineral resource, meaning that local planning policy does not typically allow other forms of development aside from mining.
Rodburn Nickel Project
- 100% ownership of Rodburn Nickel Project, NE Scotland
- Rio/Goldfields Joint Venture (“EVL”) defined a non-compliant resource in 1973
- PNL’s 2023 drilling confirms larger and higher-grade mineralisation, open in all directions, outlining potential for a 10-20 million resource
- Cobalt grades to 0.24%
- Multiple untested drill targets near the Rodburn target
- One of the highest-grade battery metal resource in Europe
-
Location
- Exclusive 250km2 Crown Estate Mines Royal Option in NE Scotland
- Power, road, rail, Aberdeen port & Inverness freeport nearby
- Exclusive landowner agreements over strike & dip extents of the Rodburn Mineral Resource plus other untested targets
-
Scottish Nickel Exploration
- Aberdeen Minerals Ltd. (AML) is actively exploring the Arthrath nickel project, located 30 miles east of Rodburn.
- Central Asia Mining Ltd. (CAML) invested £3 million for 28.7% of AML (~£10.5 market cap).
- CAML investment is a strong endorsement of the potential for nickel projects in Aberdeenshire.
Potential to significantly increase the MRE
Two mineralised zones drilled to date (Sections A-B and C-D). Geologically similar & 600m apart. Both zones wide open – more drilling needed to test true strike & down-dip potential of each. Geochemical & geophysical signatures indicate mineralised structures over 3km long. Numerous other large targets within 2km of resource.

Chris MacKenzie
Co Founder & Director
Chris is a Chartered Geologist with over 30 years of global industry experience. He holds a BSc. (Hons.) in Geology from the Univeristy of Portsmouth, UK, and an MSc. in Exploration Geology from Rhodes Univeristy, South Africa.
Chris started his career as a mining and exploration geologist at the renowned Ni-Cu-Co mines in Botswana. Throughout his career, he has remained highly interested in battery metals, with significant exploration experience across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas for various junior and major companies.
Chris co-founded Helio Resource Corp. (now Winshear Gold Corp.) with Richard Williams and served as an executive director for over 12 years, leading to the discovery of over a million ounces of gold at the SMP Gold Project in Tanzania and the GoldKop gold system in Namibia, later sold to Osino Resources.
From 2018 to 2020, he was CEO of Manas Resources (now Turaco Gold, TCG:ASX) in West Africa. Since relocating to the UK in 2020, Chris has focused on developing the Rodburn Project through Peak Nickel, which was formed in 2017.

Richard D. Williams
Co Founder & Director
Richard Williams, a British geologist with over 35 years of experience in mining, mineral exploration, and project financing, began his career in 1989 as a mine geologist in South Africa. After earning a Masters in Mineral Exploration from Queens University in 1993, he focused on precious and base metals exploration in the Americas and southern Europe, before co-founding Helio Resource Corp with Chris MacKenzie in 2001.
Since 2004, Richard has been CEO and Director of Winshear Gold (formerly Helio Resource Corp.), initially focused on base and precious metals in southern Africa before shifting to gold projects in Peru. From 2015 to 2024, he also served as CEO and Director of Cornish Metals Inc. and was instrumental acquisition of the South Crofty tin project and raising ~$100 million, while listing the company on the AIM exchange.
