  • Mining permit issued for Blesberg Mine (2 August 2024)

    Marula Mining is pleased to announce that it’s wholly owned South African subsidiary Southern African Lithium and Tantalum Mining (Pty) Ltd has been awarded a Mining Permit by the South African Department of Mineral Resources and Energy for the Blesberg Lithium and Tantalum Mine.

Projects

Blesberg Lithium and Tantalum Mine
  • Largest known mineralised pegmatite deposit in South Africa
  • Proven high-grade lithium mineralisation in spodumene of up to 6.5% Li2O
  • Mine development, including integrated AI technology, began in Q3 2023, with ongoing production of high-grade saleable spodumene ore for export to international markets
  • A long-term offtake agreement has been signed with a European commodity trading group
Kinusi Mine
  • Marula’s planned second mining operation – production expected in 2024
  • High-grade and shallow copper mineralisation – azurite, malachite, and bornite with assays of up to 20% and visual copper grade estimations of +30% copper
  • Independent verification of an Exploration Target of 10-15Mt
  • Modular processing plant construction completed and to be commissioned on site in H1 2024
  • Fully funded into production with additional funding available to expand resources
Larisoro Manganese Mine
  • Larisoro is located in north-central Kenya and is a conventional and shallow open pit mine which commenced operation in 2012
  • Mined manganese ore ranges from 18.82% to 55.01% Mn, averaging 33.41% Mn over 6 years
  • Crushed and screened to produce a +37.00% Mn saleable product historically sold into the Asian markets
Nyorinyori and Nyorigreen Graphite Mine
  • Nyorinyori extends over 13 granted mining licences while Nyorigreen extends over 22 granted mining licences in the Nyorinyori area in Simanjiro District in the Manyara Region
  • Surface outcrops reveal associated graphite mineralisation extending over +2km in strike length
  • Visual estimates show +90% graphite content in shallow, extensive veins
  • Visual observations indicate the presence of jumbo graphite flakes
Bagamoyo Graphite Mine
  • Comprises of 22 graphite mining licences in the Bagamoyo District in the Pwanai Region: Tanzania
  • Two major graphite deposits identified at Mihuga, and Sadaan Douth over +2km in strike length and 200m in width
  • At the Mihuga Prospect average assays grades of 9.99% and high-grade samples of 19.7%, 19.33%, and 15.65%
Nkombwa Hill Niobium, Tantalum, Rare Earths and Phosphate Project
  • A major mineralised carbonate complex with known rare earth, niobium, and phosphate mineralisation
  • 2016 JORC compliant resource of 21.8Mt at 7.06% P2O5 & 1.17% Total Rare Earthh Oxide (“TREOs”) at 3.0% P2O5 cut-off
  • A high-grade resource of 2.78Mt at a grade of 2.76% TREO and 6.43% P2O5
